Important Festival Checklist Information

Check out all this important information that you need to know about this year’s festival with hints and tips ranging from car parking to food.

Getting your ticket

– Tickets cost between £35-45 + booking fee and are available online and from a number of local retailers.

– It may be possible to purchase tickets on the day (subject to availability – keep checking www.glasgowbury.com for up to date information).

– The box office will be located at the designated car park, at the bottom of the festival road, and will be open from 2pm – 10pm on Friday 20th July and from 10am – 9pm on Saturday 21st July.

Getting here

– Glasgowbury encourage public transport where possible and have re-introduced a province wide bus service from various locations. Return buses (£20) will  depart on Friday evening and return on Sunday morning from a number of occasions, a Belfast day return service will also be available. To book a place on any of these services or for more information, contact Chambers on 028 2764 1880 or see www.coachireland.com

– Other private hire buses must inform Glasgowbury (info@glasgowbury.com) of their arrival details to help facilitate ease of access and security implementation.

– If travelling by car, road signs will direct you to the festival site from Draperstown.

Parking when you get here

– The box office and campsites will open from 2pm on Friday 20th July. Anyone arriving before this time will have to wait.

Road diversions will be in place from 2pm on Friday 20th July until 1pm on Sunday 22nd July for health and safety reasons. Please follow all relevant information that will lead to a safe environment for pedestrians.

– The car park and box office is located approximately one mile from the festival and camp sites.

– A cost of £5 per car will apply to park your car (to cover security and field hire costs). For further queries about parking, including disabled access, email info@glasgowbury.com

– The car park will remain open for a few hours after the festival is over to allow day ticket holders to depart.

– Shuttle buses will run from the car park to the festival site all day at a cost of just £3 per person. One ticket price permits you to unlimited bus travel over the weekend.

– The shuttle buses will run on Friday 20th July from: 2pm to 10pm / Saturday 21st July from: 10am to 2am / Sunday 22nd July from: 7am to 2pm.

– Festival goers are not permitted to sleep in cars at the car park.

– Private hire coaches taxiing festival-goers are not permitted to park in the designated car park due to space restrictions.

Camp Site/Accommodation Information

– The camp site will open from 2pm on Friday 20th July and must be vacated by 12 noon on Sunday 22nd July. Those who arrive before this time will have to wait until the box office opens.

– Bin bags will be supplied to all campers. Please respect the camp site and your patch by keeping your area tidy and using the clean up facilities provided.

– Clear plastic bags will also be provided to all campers. Please place designated recyclable materials in these bags and present it to the Friends Of The Earth team to be in with a chance of winning exclusive Glasgowbury prizes.

– A designated family camp site and quiet area will be located on site. Please make security aware of your requirements on entry and they will show you to the correct area.

– No glass bottles, no camp fires and no stoves (of any kind) will be allowed in the camping area – this will be strictly enforced in order to ensure everyones safety.

– A number of local accommodation suppliers offer an alternative to the camp site – see here for more information.

Camper Van Information

– Camper vans will be allowed to park within the designated festival car park, in the vicinity of the festival site.

– All those staying in a camper van must purchase a festival and camping ticket and an extra cost of £10 will apply to cover costs for a hard and steady ground.

– Those staying in a camper van will have access to the camp site but ordinary campers will not be allowed into the camper van site.

Festival Activities

– Free programmes will be available on the day detailing all activities / a site map / stage times / important information etc.

– There are six stages with a variety of talent and styles spread across them.

– A kids zone will see some colour and excitement added to the site with face-painters, magicians, clowns, stilt walkers, superhero wrestling kits and swingball stations spread throughout the area.

– A plethora of traders and stalls will be on site for your pleasure – so bring some extra cash and dive into stalls selling everything from home-made products to funky wigs and wellies.

– And don’t forget to get your hands on some official Glasgowbury merchandise. Limited reserves mean a first come, first served basis.

Food and Drink Information

– You may bring your own food, drink and alcohol to the camp site but you will not be allowed to bring any drinks or alcohol into the festival site.

– No glass bottles will be permitted on the camp site and regular searches by security will enforce this.

– A full selection of food stalls will feature at the festival selling products such as buffalo burgers, burritos, burgers, chips, crepes and more with both vegetarian and coeliac options available.

– There will be two fully stocked bars on site: One will serve Harp, Guinness, spirits and a selection of wines while a Red Bull cocktail bar will offer a selection of alternative cool refreshments.

– Be sure to wash your hands prior to preparing food and drink – our super furry animals may have left some present droppings behind them.

Behaviour

– Glasgowbury reserve the right to eject anyone from the camping or festival site subject to improper behaviour as determined by security.

– Please respect yourself and others to make your festival experience a safe and enjoyable one for all.

Other important information

– Under 12s will be allowed entry to the festival for free with an accompanying adult (four children per one adult) / 16 & 17 year olds can come to the festival unattended by an adult but will not be allowed access to the bar or alcohol.

– First aiders will be on hand throughout the day should you require basic medication; painkillers etc. Prescription medicines may also be held here.

– I.D. may be required at the festival gate and bar as applicable.

– Bring appropriate clothing and accessories in case of inclement weather.

– Strobe lighting will be in use throughout the day. Please use care and attention where appropriate.
