Rural Key Music & Multimedia Programme

The award-winning Rural Key Project began in 2004 as a workshop facilitation programme for rural based musicians lacking access, resources and opportunities to develop their talent and improve further education and career opportunities. As a creative and practical programme, the Rural Key Programme has developed over the years and offers different strands of support ranging from basic tuition to artistic and business development, and was selected by the Carnegie UK Trust in 2009 as Northern Ireland’s ‘Rural Spark’ for excellence in community endeavour. Creative Director Paddy Glasgow was also chosen as an UnLtd Level Two winner for the project.

Lessons are available on a Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday at the Cornstore in acoustic/electric/bass guitar, drums, piano, djing and singing. Students, from age 6 years, can choose graded or non graded music tuition.

Our goal is to ensure that young people from rural areas with musical and creative talent and potential have opportunities to develop their talent. We cater for all abilities taught by qualified and experienced tutors.

In order to encourage participation and make activities accessible to all, subsidised rates are available. Please ask for details.
