The submissions period for Glasgowbury 2011 is now officially open.

Acts interested in submitting to be considered for next year’s festival have until the end of January to send through their work.

As a festival which caters for new and emerging talent, each year Glasgowbury opens a submissions period to give interested bands and artists the opportunity to get on the bill.

To be considered for next year’s event, interested applicants should send us their press pack, an up to date example of their music, and a copy of the downloadable covering letter available below.

Although hard copy postal entries are preferred, this year artists can also submit to Glasgowbury via email but must still provide all essential criteria.

Postal Submissions Send your press pack, CD and the completed covering letter to: Glasgowbury Music Group, Unit B1, The Business Centre,  Tobermore Road, Draperstown, BT45 7AG
Email Submissions Email your press pack, a link to your songs (do not send song attachments with your email as this will clog up the email system)  and the completed covering letter to: submissions@glasgowbury.com

The deadline for submissions to be received is Monday 31st January and all successful acts will be informed thereafter. We will also endeavour to contact everyone who submits for the festival.

Fighting With Wire kickstart G Sessions

After treating thousands of fans to a triumphant headline return at this year’s Glasgowbury Music Festival before killer gigs at the likes of Belsonic, Fighting With Wire will kick-start the next phase of the G Sessions on October 16th.

With new album Bones Of The Twilight almost ready to see the light of day, the Derry trio will hit the Cellar Bar in Draperstown to help re-launch the acclaimed G Sessions.

And instead of having to wait til the new year for the much sought after new material, FWW have announced to fans that they will make a limited edition ‘sneaky’ EP exclusively available at all shows during their forthcoming Irish tour.

Early live listenings of their new material has proved positive with fans and critics alike and the punk rockers have made revised plans to conquer the rock world.

Support comes from a couple of fellow Glasgowbury 2010 bill-sharers – Team Fresh and More Than Conquerors.

North coast rap-rockers Team Fresh threatened to steal the show at this year’s festival with one of the most chaotically exciting performances of the day.

Meanwhile More Than Conquerors owned the main stage with a confident display that reminded converts and enthralled newcomers.

The trio of acts will be the perfect way to kickstart the 6th year of the G Sessions on Saturday 16th October. Doors at 9pm, admission £5.
