Glasgowbury becomes a ‘Connected Community’

Glasgowbury are proud to announce an exciting partnership with BT’s ‘Connected Communities’ initiative which will see the Draperstown organisation offer computer courses in the local area.

The programme is aimed at providing on the ground access to computers and IT support so that everyone has the chance to get online.

Under BT’s drive to get people tech savvy, Glasgowbury will become a hub for the Connected Communities project, offering teaching in everything from the basics of getting started online.

“Simply put, we believe everyone should be connected,” said a spokesperson for BT.

“With BT Connected Communities we’ll show how easy it is to go online and experience the World Wide Web – and how it can help make your life better.”

Glasgowbury will offer classes on Tuesday evenings from 7-9pm at their office space on the Tobermore Road in Draperstown, beginning on Tuesday 25th September.

The first sessions will focus on getting people started with the use of computers including the basics of IT and internet use and the course will run for a maximum of six weeks.

It is Glasgowbury’s aim to expand the initiative to eventually offer creative classes in various software and computer development.
