Groovemonk DJs who have supported the Derry outfit in their first number of local ventures will be supported by Electrissey DJs at the next upcoming monthly showcase.

The whole thing kicks off at 9pm this Saturday 1st May at the Cellar Bar in Draperstown and admission is £5.

With debut album Align The Planets ripping up a storm across the UK, success has begun to continually follow the Portadown trio and they were the proud recipients of Kerrang’s ‘Best British Newcomer’ in August of last year.

Slots at Reading and Leeds and Glastonbury among others, secured their alternative rock following and they now look towards the future and album number two.

The young three piece will return to the G Sessions on May 22nd ready to unleash a host of new material from their second outing, looking for feedback from their local fans.

Support will come from A Plastic Rose and Axis Of.

The gig will take place at the Cellar Bar in Draperstown on Saturday 22nd May from 9pm and admission is £5.

In association with the G Sessions, Glasgowbury were the first group to take the annual showcase out of the city last year and have confirmed another monster line-up for this year’s event.

The date and venue had previously been announced (Cellar Bar, Draperstown on Saturday 17th April) and now the five lucky golden ticket winners are out.

In 2009 the event was up for grabs to Here Comes The Landed Gentry, We Are Resistance, Furlo and Skruff .

In 2010 it will be up to Building Pictures, Silhouette, Pretty Child Backfire, The Q and LaFaro to lead the charge for local talent.

In securing the showcase for the second year running, Paddy Glasgow said it was an honour to bring IMRO into the local community to sample a selection of the country’s finest musicians.

Doors for the event will open at 8pm and admission is £5.

Psychedelic alt rockers Cashier No 9 have confirmed that they will head up the March G Session on Saturday 6th.

With their debut album all wrapped up and ready to go, the exciting five piece will return to the G Sessions after last year’s spectacular showcase a month before masterfully taking the main stage at Glasgowbury.

As one of the most exciting bands doing the rounds, Cashier No 9 will bring their unique brand of other-worldly pop to the Cellar Bar in Draperstown.

Support will come from Junior Johnson and his band who, when not thrilling audiences as a one man army of excellence, teams up with three like minded individuals to add another dimension to his music.

The legendary Derry funksters, ably supported by three local DJs, will return to the Cellar Bar in Draperstown to build upon the legend.

Introduced to give young DJs in the area a solid platform to showcase their talents, the second round of G Decks will see another round of innovative and confident musicians at the top of their game.

Doors are at 9pm and admission is £5 before 10pm/£6 afterwards.

The local showcase will take place on Saturday 17th April.

First hosted in 1992, Ireland’s most established new band showcase has provided a live platform to scores of up and coming Irish acts.

Last year it was the likes of Skruff, Here Comes The Landed Gentry and Furlo who took the mantle to showcase the best the local area had to offer.

IMRO are now inviting bands and solo artists across all genres of music to apply for a place on the IMRO Showcase Tour 2010.

The acts for this year’s G Sessions showcase are still to be confirmed, so check back soon for details.

Signature, the sophomore release from the now five piece, is already shaping up to build upon the success of Concussed Girls which won them legions of fans.

The February G Session will be a four band spectacular with support on the night coming from The Q, Colenso Parade and Pretty Child Backfire.

DERRY’S most famous dance export and all round legends, Deep Fried Funk have been hand picked to launch the first night in a new series of Glasgowbury based events called G Decks.

The events have been organised in response to a large response and need in the area where a huge number of original dance music artists and lovers have expressed their interest in the genre.

And to launch the new G Decks initiative, the legendary Deep Fried Funk will take over the Cellar Bar in Draperstown on Saturday 5 December for a night of funk fuelled dance mastery.

Regular stage closers at the festival, DFF’s performances have become something of a ritual over the last number of years and their iconic and memorable showcases have the tent packed with lovers of all things music.

AFTER packing out venues across the UK, including Belfast’s Ulster Hall, General Fiasco will return home to the place where it all began with a headline slot at the Glasgowbury G Sessions this December.

The local trio have graced the G Sessions stage on a number of occasions, after igniting their career at the Glasgowbury festival in 2007; and will return with an early Christmas present for their local fans.

Their first single proper, We Are The Foolish, was released last month to critical acclaim and forthcoming single Ever So Shy aims to build upon their growing reputation.

Support on the night comes from Derry’s indie wunderkids The Q, who after a number of years on the circuit, including a year’s experience on Glasgowbury’s Rural Key Music Project, will bring their exciting and eccentric style to life.

With a re-vamped line-up and brand new EP in the shape of Big Fubb, the post-punk stylings of the young five piece have been celebrated as far away as America.
