Important festival checklist and info

Check out all this important information that you need to know about this year’s festival with hints and tips ranging from car parking to food.

Getting your ticket

  • Tickets cost £30 + booking fee for a day pass and £40 + booking fee for a festival ticket with camping and are available online here or see here for a full breakdown of sellers.
  • Tickets can be bought on the day (subject to availability).
  • Festival goers will be charged the full ticket price no matter what time they decide to enter the festival site
  • The box office will be located at the car park, at the bottom of the festival road, and will be open from 6pm – 10pm on Friday 23rd July and from 10am – 9pm on Saturday 24th July. After 9pm, access will only be granted on presentation of a full ticket (with stub still attached).
  • Those festival-goers with pre-bought tickets will exchange these for armbands at the box office.

Getting here

  • Glasgowbury encourage public transport where possible and have this year introduced a province wide bus service from nine separate locations. Return buses (£20) will  depart on Friday evening and return on Sunday morning from the following locations: Ballymena, Belfast, Coleraine, Derry, Limavady, Newry, Omagh, Strabane and Magherafelt.   • A day return service from Belfast is also being offered by Coaches To Concerts at a cost of £10. For more information, see www.coachestoconcerts.com
  • Other private hire buses must inform Glasgowbury (info@glasgowbury.com) of their arrival details to help facilitate ease of access and security implementation.
  • If travelling by car, road signs will direct you to the festival site from Draperstown. Alternatively, see this page for more detailed travel/direction info.

Parking when you get here

  • Road diversions will be in place from 6pm on Friday 23rd July until 1pm on Sunday 25th July for health and safety reasons. Please follow all relevant information that will lead to a safe environment for pedestrians.
  • The car park and box office is located approximately one mile from the festival and camp sites.
  • A cost of £5 per car will apply to park your car (to cover security and field hire).

  • The long stay car park will close at 11pm on Saturday 24th July and anyone looking access to their car will be accompanied by security on presentation of proper identification.
  • The short stay car park will remain open for a few hours after the festival is over.
  • Shuttle buses will run from the car park to the festival site all day at a cost of just £3 per person. One ticket permits you to unlimited bus travel over the weekend. Alternatively, you can walk the mile to the festival site.
  • The shuttle buses will run on Friday 24th July from: 6pm to 11pm / Saturday 25th July from: 10am to 2am / Sunday 26th July from: 9am to 2pm.
  • Outside of these times campers may be required to walk or use local independent taxis.
  • Festival goers are not permitted to sleep in cars at the car park.
  • Eamon Bradley will be running a taxi service to the festival from around the district. For more information, contact Eamon on 07746959283. Please note that taxis, like bus services, must drop all festival-goers off at the box office located at the bottom of the road.
  • Private hire coaches taxiing festival-goers are not permitted to park in the designated car park due to lack of space.

Camp Site/Accommodation Information

  • The camp site will open from 6pm on Friday 23rd July and must be vacated by 12 noon on Sunday 25th July. Those who arrive before this time will have to wait until the box office opens.
  • Bin bags will be supplied to all campers. Please respect the camp site and and your patch by keeping your area tidy and using the clean up facilities provided.
  • A designated family camp site and quiet area will be located on site. Please make security aware of your requirements on entry and they will show you to the correct area.
  • No glass bottles, no camp fires and no barbecue stoves will be allowed in the camping area.
  • If you’re not up to braving the mountain conditions, you can book into a local hotel;

  • The Rural College is located nearby and is offering a 20% discount. Shared rooms (B&B) will cost £30 per person while a single room (B&B) is just £40. For more information, contact 028 796 29100.

Camper Van Information

  • Camper vans will be allowed to park within the designated festival car park, in the vicinity of the festival site.
  • All those staying in a camper van must purchase a festival and camping ticket and an extra cost of £5 will apply to cover costs for a hard and steady ground.
  • Those staying in a camper van will have access to the camp site but ordinary campers will not be allowed into the camper van site.

Festival Activities

  • Free programmes will be available on the day detailing all activities / a site map / stage times / important information etc.
  • A holistic zone located on the festival site will include reflexology and indian head massage therapies.
  • A plethora of traders and stalls will be on site for your pleasure – so bring some extra cash and dive into stalls selling everything from home-made products to funky wigs and wellies.
  • Fancy getting a new hairstyle for the day? Then why not check out our resident hair stylist and update your funky features.
  • Need your phone charged? One of the stalls will be offering a mobile phone charging service on site.
  • And don’t forget to get your hands on some official tenth anniversary Glasgowbury merchandise. Limited reserves mean a first come come first served basis.

Food and Drink Information

  • You may bring your own food, drink and alcohol to the camp site but you will not be allowed to bring any drinks or alcohol into the festival site.
  • No glass bottles will be pemitted on the camp site and regular searches by security will enforce this point.
  • A full selection of food stalls will feature at the festival including chip vans, a crepe making stall, a champ bar and Indian cuisine plus tea, coffee and snacks etc.
  • There will be two fully stocked bars on site: One will serve Tennent’s and Magners while a cocktail bar will offer a selection of alternative cool refreshments.
  • Be sure to wash your hands prior to preparing food and drink – our super furry animals may have left some present droppings behind them.

Behaviour

  • Glasgowbury reserve the right to eject anyone from the camping or festival site subject to improper behaviour as determined by security.
  • Respect yourself and others to make your festival experience a safe and enjoyable one for all.

Other important information

  • Under 12s will be allowed entry to the festival for free with an accompanying adult (four children per one adult) / 16 & 17 year olds can come to the festival unattended by an adult but will not be allowed access to the bar or alcohol.
  • I.D. may be required at the festival gate and bar as applicable.
  • Bring appropriate clothing and accessories in case of inclement weather.
